Atomz to Provide New Functionality Almost Instantly

Move over server-based content management because Atomz, a leading developer of hosted applications for building better Web sites, today announced that Business 2.0 Online (business2.com) is now running with the Atomz Publish content management system. Business 2.0 implemented Atomz Publish in just over a month. Unlike server-based content management systems that can take many months to deploy, the hosted Atomz Publish system is quick to implement. As part of the announcement, Atomz also unveiled a powerful new set of Atomz Publish features.

The new Atomz Publish features include content cross-posting for use across multiple channels, a drop-down and multi-select list editor interface, new administration controls, scheduled publishing, large capacity enhancements, powerful deployment to multiple Web servers, and more. Atomz is able to rapidly deliver additional functionality to Business 2.0 using the powerful Atomz ASP technology.

Bellarmine is an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. This is Sullivan's second stint with the program, following one season with the Lady Knights in 2003-04. , director of product development at Business 2.0 Online. "We moved to a more robust system in a month's time, on schedule and with new features added seamlessly. Our successful system upgrade pays tribute to Atomz's hosting architecture as well as its solid customer service."

Atomz Publish, unveiled in January January: see month.  2001, makes Web content easier to create, manage and update. Business users, who typically wait to get content pushed to the Web site, can now be given control over tasks like publishing breaking news, updating a job listing, or changing content on any page of the site without knowledge of HTML HTML

Markup language derived from SGML that is used to prepare hypertext documents. Relatively easy for nonprogrammers to master, HTML is the language used for documents on the World Wide Web.
. As a hosted service, Atomz Publish also enables companies to lower IT spending while improving the companies' abilities to deliver business analysis and timely news. For example, Business 2.0 uses the service to allow the editorial staff at Business 2.0 to easily update the Web site, keeping content current.

The new Atomz Publish features include:
-- Content Cross-Posting: Enables any content to be repurposed across a Web
site, allowing content to be displayed within multiple templates and in a
variety of formats. Updates to the cross-posted content can be made once and
then these modifications are pushed to all instances of the content on the
site. Content is created once and reused across multiple channels.

-- Multi-Page Files and Articles: Allows Editors to specify how content should
be split among multiple pages, improving readability and increasing page views.

-- Drop Down Lists: Gives Administrators the ability to create templates that
contain lists, for example, a list of authors, products or names, and then
gives Editors the ability to select from a drop down list, rather than having
to type in the content. This makes it easier for Editors to add new content and
prevents mistakes when entering content.

-- Publish-if-Empty, Publish-if-Not-Empty Tags: Enables Administrators to set
certain fields in the browser interface so that if no content is populated,
they will disappear from the published page. This eliminates white space and
other formatting errors from occurring.

-- Scheduled Publishing and Approvals: Allows for a scheduled publish of
content or queuing of files for future publishing. This allows editors to do
pre-work in the system with the content published at a future time.

-- Enhanced Rich Text Control: Provides for the introduction of additional
buttons on the Rich Text Editor (Internet Explorer/Windows only) for more
advanced style-sheet and text control.

-- Deployment: Allows the copying of a newly published site or parts of a site
to a set of servers to help customers with Web-server load balance.
