SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 2003

Company Enhances Award-Winning Web Content Management System;

Incorporates Customer Feedback and Innovates Rapidly

Atomz, the leading provider of enterprise Web site management software delivered as an online service, today announced that it has added new features and functionality to enhance the usability and security of its enterprise Web content management solution, Atomz Publish. The company launched a significantly enhanced, browser-based WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Pronounced "wiz-ee-wig." It refers to displaying text and graphics on screen the same as they will print on paper or display on a Web page.  Rich Text Editor, increased the number of Internet security ''This article or section is being rewritten at

 standards and protocols it supports for content deployment, and has greatly upgraded its integration with desktop applications. Atomz Publish now works seamlessly with customers' desktop applications, including Adobe GoLive Adobe GoLive is an HTML editor from Adobe Systems. It replaced Adobe PageMill as Adobe's primary HTML editor[1]. The latest version of Adobe GoLive is version 9, and is not integrated as part of Adobe Creative Suite 3.  and Macromedia Dreamweaver, as well as Web folders on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms.

"With these enhancements, Atomz continues its tradition of listening to customer feedback, incorporating it into our product development cycle, and improving our software at a rate impossible to match by our server-based competitors," said Steve Kusmer, chief executive officer of Atomz. "Not only does Atomz Publish now offer more secure publishing options for enterprises, but the product also integrates with existing desktop and Web applications to give Web teams more control over their Web content management workflow."

Advanced Content Authoring

An improved browser-based WYSIWYG Rich Text Editor interface now offers content contributors an enhanced authoring environment to easily create, manage and publish their work. The interface contains a comprehensive and familiar "button bar," enabling content authors, creators and editors to edit, manipulate and align text and images in much the same way they would with any standard desktop application. Several customization features provide greater control over the site's look and feel, including the ability to apply styles defined by the Web site designer, an assortment of formatting options for HTML tables and the ability to insert and upload images directly into content authoring Web forms.

The new Rich Text Editor is available for customers who run the Windows operating system operating system (OS)

 and use Internet Explorer. No software downloads or plug-ins are required. Atomz announced an advanced content authoring environment for Macintosh users earlier this year.

Secure Publishing

Atomz Publish now provides more than a dozen secure publishing options for transferring files from its content management system to production and staging Web servers. These include FTP FTP

By supporting a range of Internet security standards and protocols, Atomz's Web content management system integrates seamlessly with the IT policies, procedures and existing Web infrastructures of most enterprise customers. For companies seeking an even higher-level of protection, the company also offers the Atomz VPN (Virtual Private Network) A private network that is configured within a public network (a carrier's network or the Internet) in order to take advantage of the economies of scale and management facilities of large networks.  Solution, a dedicated network and application server with powerful encryption and user authentication software.

Desktop Integration

Web teams can tackle collaborative projects using Atomz Publish and its enhanced WebDAV support to deliver seamless integration between the desktop and the CMS (1) See content management system and color management system.

. Customers can now simply drag-and-drop files such as Microsoft Word documents, PDFs and images directly in and out of the Atomz Publish content repository using Web folders, supported by both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. Atomz Publish can serve as a shared network file system, providing a protocol for managing and staging content and templates that have been developed in standard desktop applications, including Adobe GoLive or Macromedia Dreamweaver. The files can then be managed by workflow processes to assure that design, information architecture and content standards are maintained.

Enterprise Web teams can now enjoy the benefits of a hosted CMS, while working off-line with standard desktop Web applications. Documents, photographs and images can be checked in and out of the content repository directly from a Web designer's desktop. Web site design and template management becomes a more efficient, collaborative effort, and the review, approval and publishing process is streamlined.

"We applaud Atomz's efforts to integrate WebDAV support for Adobe GoLive into Atomz Publish," said Mark Asher, GoLive group product manager for Adobe. "By doing so, developers gain greater control over the tracking, management and retrieval of documents, and work more collaboratively throughout the design and content authoring process, all without ever having to learn a new application."
