Atlas Venture Appoints Bill Bryant Venture Partner; Seasoned Technology Entrepreneur Joins Firm's Seattle Office.

Atlas Venture Atlas Venture is an international early-stage venture capital firm that invests in communications, information technology, and life sciences companies. Atlas Venture has investing offices in Boston, London, Munich, and Paris, and its investments are evenly divided between the , the leading international venture capital firm investing in communications, information technology and life sciences companies, today announced that Bill Bryant William Bryant, Jr. (born January 15, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana) was an American football cornerback in the NFL for the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football at Grambling State University.  has joined the firm, effective immediately, as a Venture Partner in Atlas Venture's Seattle office.

Mr. Bryant, with an extensive startup and corporate background, will use that background to support the growth and development of Atlas Venture's portfolio companies.

Ms. Jennings, who is responsible for leading Atlas Venture's expansion on the West Coast, opened the firm's new Seattle office in January 2001. Atlas Venture's other West Coast location is in Menlo Park Menlo Park.

Prior to joining Atlas Venture, Mr. Bryant was active in the formation and development of several leading technology and Internet companies in the Northwest, having served as founder, executive or investor. He co-founded Qpass Inc., where he was CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  through 1998 and Chairman until January 2001, and currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board; and Netbot Inc, where he was co-founder and President. He was previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Visio Corporation. He was also an early investor in Throw Inc and Exstatic Software. Both Netbot and Throw were subsequently acquired by Excite@Home, while Exstatic was acquired by Exchange Applications. Mr. Bryant has also served as Vice President of Marketing at Micrografx Inc. and has held the same position at Traveling Software. In addition, he has consulted extensively for RealNetworks, Microsoft and Corbis.
