Atlas Copco.

Atlas Copco's new DIAMEC U6 core drill incorporates the latest hydraulic and electronic technology into a modern compact design and includes many options for flexibility. The rig is optimized for Atlas Copco's latest diamond bit and core barrel technologies, and can be delivered skid or crawler mounted with an electric or diesel power unit. DIAMEC U6 comes standard with a new third-generation Automatic Performance Control (APC), but is available in manual operation. The rotation unit and feedframe have up to 50 percent fewer parts leading to less maintenance and better availability. The APC electronics are highly tolerant to disruption and cope extremely well with harsh environmental conditions. Pressure filters are fitted between hose separation points and valves to prevent dirt from entering the valves after opening the hydraulic lines to move the drill modules. Two new rotation units offer more power -- a standard N size, 1,800-rpm unit and an optional H size, 1,400-rpm unit. There is also a new heavy-duty 1,000-meter wireline hoist and levelwind assembly. The APC features a touch screen-based control panel that makes it easier for the driller to enter all necessary drilling parameters and to monitor the drilling operation from a distance. The DIAMEC U6 can be used for conventional and wireline drilling for holes up to size H. There is a new easy-to-use positioner that enables you to set the feedframe single-handed in any position from +90 to -90 degrees without moving the wireline Circle No. 202
