In 2002, Atlas Copco opened its branch office in Tanzania. Today, Atlas Copco expects to experience a strong increase in customer share, especially from the mining customers, and has therefore established a customer center in the country to serve them better.

Atlas Copco Tanzania will remain under the responsibility of Atlas Copco Eastern Africa's regional office based in Nairobi, Kenya. Benoit Etienne is the General Manager for the company. It belongs operationally to the Construction and Mining Technique business area.
