PHILADELPHIA -- Atlas America, Inc.(NASDAQ:ATLS) (the "Company") announces that its Board of Directors has authorized a repurchase program by the Company through which the Company may repurchase up to $50 million of its common stock.

The Company currently has outstanding approximately 13,333,333 shares of common stock.
