) announced today that it has entered into a contract for services with Martinair Martinair is an airline based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It operates passenger and cargo services to over 50 destinations worldwide, of which more than 20 are in the Mediterranean area.  Holland.

The new agreement calls for the provision by Atlas Air of a 747-200 freighter aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. Operations will commence mid-April 2001 with initial routing between Amsterdam and Africa.

"Industry forecasts predict that overall African air trade will grow between 5% and 6% per year through 2019 and, as part of our focus on global expansion, we have been actively seeking new business in this market," said Richard Shuyler, Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Air, Inc. "Martinair has proven themselves in this market, building a strong foundation and network. We are very pleased to be able to provide them with additional capacity as they expand their successful services in the growing African market."
