) program. Atlantis will integrate ImaGen servers into their internal helicopter flight simulator flight simulator, device providing a controlled environment in which a flight trainee can experience conditions approximating those of actual flight. A simulator generally consists of an enclosure housing a working replica of the interior of the cockpit of an  project that is currently reconfigurable between the Westland EH-101, a three-engine helicopter for medium transport, and the Bell 206. This revolutionary Virtual and Reconfigurable system allows training to be addressed for any legacy helicopter and new aircraft requiring vertical flight. Applications can vary from helicopters to the V-22, and can also address evolving requirements for the Joint Strike Fighter A strike fighter is a fighter aircraft which is also capable of attacking surface targets, including ships. It differs from an attack aircraft in that the aircraft remains a capable fighter. .

"We needed a powerful, consistent and reliable image generator that would also be easy to deploy," said Walter Volk, HVT Program Manager, Atlantis Systems. "In Concurrent's ImaGen servers, we found a solution that meets the demanding requirements of a reconfigurable training product, at an excellent value as well. We see the ImaGen as a new integral demonstration tool that showcases our effective, cost-efficient technology."

Under the terms of this agreement, Atlantis is purchasing three ImaGen visual servers with dual PCI-Express graphics cards and a genlock/framelock option to synchronize video output. In addition to simulation visual display, Atlantis will use the ImaGen platform for internal research and development, and for demonstration purposes to support sales and marketing of flight simulators.

The Atlantis HVT solution also includes a GenesisRT Worldwide Database from Diamond Visionics Company, a Concurrent channel partner. GenesisRT recreates the real world by composing multiple sources of data at runtime, including elevation, classification, vectors and imagery to produce a continuous worldwide visual environment. GenesisRT automatically synthesizes high-detail textures from classification and vector data for areas where imagery is not provided, resulting in a seamless transition from geo-specific generated terrain.

"Concurrent's ImaGen technology will make a significant contribution to both Atlantis Systems' HVT program as well as their bottom line," said Ken Jackson Sir Ken Jackson (born 3rd March 1937) was the General Secretary of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union (AEEU) from 1995 until that union's merger with the Manufacturing Science and Finance (MSF) union to form Amicus in 2001. , VP of Concurrent Special Systems. "With ImaGen, Atlantis has a solution that guarantees optimum training effectiveness at the lowest possible cost over the lifecycle of the trainer. Concurrent takes pride in working closely with our customers to deliver innovative solutions specifically tailored to their needs, at the best possible value."

Concurrent ImaGen visual servers provide multiple channels of state-of-the-art visualization and graphics performance ideal for today's simulation and modeling applications requiring enhanced realism and the ability to process very large amounts of input data. Typical applications include civil and military simulation Military simulations, also known informally as war games, are simulations in which theories of warfare can be tested and refined without the need for actual hostilities. Many professional analysts object to the term wargames , mission planning, homeland security, scientific and medical visualization, architectural design, energy exploration, and entertainment. With ImaGen, high-end image generation, once achievable only on large, costly, dedicated visual systems, is now available on servers employing COTS graphics technology.
