Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc. Acquires V.I. Internet Service Provider.

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1999--

Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc. (AMEX:ANK), announced today that it has acquired VIAccess, the Virgin Islands' largest Internet Service Provider (see www.viaccess.net).

VIAccess currently has about 5,500 subscribers. During the past year, VIAccess has been deploying WDSL wireless Internet service (see also www.wdsl.net). Now, with access to the capital backing of Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc., high-speed wireless broadband Internet access will become a reality in the Virgin Islands.

The acquisition was made through Wireless World, LLC, a newly-organized wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc.
