Atlantic Development celebrates opening of Sunrise on the Bay.

, Inc., officially opened Sunrise on the Bay, a 104-unit luxury assisted living facility located in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn Sheepshead Bay is a bay separating the mainland of Brooklyn, New York City from the eastern portion of Coney Island, the latter originally a barrier island but now effectively an extension of the mainland with peninsulas both east (the neighborhood of Manhattan Beach) and west . Over 200 people attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the $22 million luxury senior home, including a number of local dignitaries.

State Senator Marty Markowitz and John Nikas, chairman of Community Planning Board 15, attended the ribbon-cutting event, along with Diane Wiptkowski, director of Alzheimer's Disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia.  and Long Term Care Division, Department of the Aging for the City of New York. One of the featured speakers, Wiptkowski made a presentation on behalf of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
