Atlantic Coast Airlines and Pan Am International Flight Academy Announce Plans to Develop Flight Simulator Training Facility.


DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 1998--

Atlantic Coast Airlines Atlantic Coast Airlines (IATA: DH, ICAO: BLR, and Callsign: Blue Ridge) was an airline based in the United States owned by Atlantic Coast Holdings, Inc.. It operated as United Express for United Airlines and Delta Connection for Delta Air Lines.  (ACA ACA - Application Control Architecture ) (NASDAQ/NM:ACAI), the Dulles, VA-based United Express carrier, Thursday announced the signing of a 10-year exclusive contract with Pan Am International Flight Academy (PAIFA PAIFA Pennsylvania Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors ) to provide simulator (1) Software that enables the execution of an application written for a different computer environment. Same as emulator.

(2) Software that models the interactions of hypothetical or real-world objects or business processes.
 training for the company's Canadair Regional Jet (RJ 200) program.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Academy will develop a comprehensive training facility to be based in Loudoun County, VA, near ACA's headquarters, and Washington Dulles International Airport Washington Dulles International Airport (IATA: IAD, ICAO: KIAD, FAA LID: IAD) is a public airport located 25 miles (40 km) west of the central business district of Washington, D.C., in Loudoun County and Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. . The facility will initially house four simulator bays, as well as classrooms, briefing and de-briefing rooms, flight training devices and administrative functions--and will provide significant room for immediate expansion.
