Atlanta to host ISRI Operations Forum.The Marriott Atlanta Marquis hotel in downtown Atlanta Downtown Atlanta refers to the largest financial district for the city of Atlanta. As defined by the Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) organization, the area measures approximately 4 mi², and was home to 23,300 as of 2006. will serve as the site for the Institute of Scrap Recycling recycling, the process of recovering and reusing waste products—from household use, manufacturing, agriculture, and business—and thereby reducing their burden on the environment. Industries Inc. (ISRI ISRI Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries ISRI Institute for Software Research, International (Carnegie Mellon University) ISRI Information Science Research Institute ISRI Intelligent Systems Research Institute ) Operations Forum, a conference designed to assist in the safe and efficient operation of scrap recycling facilities. The event will be Jan. 19-21. The Operations Forum includes an educational program with several tracks. Those who attend all the required sessions in a specific track can receive a Certificate of Achievement at the conclusion of the forum. Tracks for the 2006 program include shredder operations, OSHA OSHA n. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, a branch of the US Department of Labor responsible for establishing and enforcing safety and health standards in the workplace. 10-hour training, employee resource management, metals identification, yard management and general operations. The forum also features tabletop exhibits from providers of products and services to the scrap industry. On-site registration costs $845 for ISRI members and $1,045 for non-members.
