Atlanta Technology, a provider of IT solutions to SME market See SMB. , announced on Tuesday (20 January) it has expanded its virtualisation product portfolio to include I/O virtualisation solutions from Xsigo Systems Inc, a provider of data centre I/O Virtualisation.

Atlanta Technology said it selected Xsigo's I/O solution to enable customers to lower server-related operating expenses Operating expenses

The Xsigo I/O Director is particularly suited for public sector and commercial organisations that are looking to identify efficiencies across the network, at the same time reducing operational costs and the carbon footprint A carbon footprint is the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases emitted over the full life cycle of a product or service. .

The solution helps reduce complexities of a virtualised server environment, allowing organisations to consolidate concurrently up to 64 Ethernet and Fibre Channel sessions per server. In addition, it provides more granular use of bandwidth and assured Quality of Service, enables virtual resources to be rapidly deployed and delivers operational and cost savings, the company said.
