) at a meeting Tuesday, confirmed that a joint venture led by one of Atkinson's operating divisions, Atkinson Construction Co., has been awarded a $384 million contract for construction on MWD's Eastside Reservoir Project.

Under this contract, the single largest awarded in MWD's 68-year history, Atkinson Construction Co., as sponsor, and its partners in the venture, Washington Construction Co. of Missoula, Mont., a subsidiary of Kasler Holding Co., and H.B. San Antonio is the second most populous city in Texas, the third most populous metropolitan area in Texas, and is the seventh most populous city in the United States. As of the 2006 U.S.
 will provide all construction services required to build two of the three dams that will form Southern California's largest reservoir near Hemet in Riverside County.

Work on the 260-billion-gallon reservoir is expected to begin in February 1996 and take some 37 months to complete.
