operating divisions, Atkinson Construction Company, was awarded a $223.9
million contract yesterday from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
Louisville District. The contract is for lock construction for the
Olmstead Locks and Dams project on the Ohio River Ohio RiverMajor river, eastern central U.S. Formed by the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, it flows northwest out of Pennsylvania, and west and southwest to form the state boundaries of Ohio–West Virginia, Ohio-Kentucky, Indiana-Kentucky, and . Project construction is expected to begin early in 1996 and be completed in the next four years.
