Atiq Raza Joins as Chairman of the Board of the Directors of Validity Sensors; Renowned Semiconductor Industry Veteran Brings Management And Strategic Experience To Innovative Semiconductor Start-Up.

FOSTER CITY, Calif. -- Validity Sensors -- a leading developer of biometric fingerprint sensors -- today announced the appointment of Mr. Atiq Raza as the Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Mr. Raza is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Raza Microelectronics Inc. Previously Mr. Raza was President and Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). He became a key member of AMD's top management team after AMD acquired NexGen, where he was President and Chief Executive Officer. While at AMD, Mr. Raza oversaw and guided the company's development and introduction of the very successful K6 and Athlon microprocessor families, as well as communications-related products for ADSL and HomeLAN applications. Prior to NexGen, Mr. Raza spent over twenty years in various management and engineering positions, most notably as Vice President of Technology Centers at VLSI Technology Inc. A highly respected industry veteran with broad industry expertise in engineering and management, Mr. Raza has shared his insight and strategic guidance with several successful private companies, and is a valuable and knowledgeable resource for Validity Sensors' board.

"We are delighted to have Atiq join as Chairman of the Board of Validity," said Arjun Gupta, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Validity Sensors and Managing Partner of TeleSoft Partners. "Atiq's experience, objectivity, and vision will be a great asset as Validity grows to the next step. Atiq is phenomenal at guiding the strategic and tactical decision-making of startups at key inflexion points. Conceptually, this is very similar to the role Atiq played as a Director of Matrix Semiconductor, which was acquired by SanDisk for $250+ million, and as Chairman of the Board of Vxtel, a VoIP silicon provider which Intel acquired for $500 + million. Both Matrix Semiconductor and VxTel were also TeleSoft investments."

"Validity Sensors is doing innovative, groundbreaking work," said Mr. Raza. "I look forward to helping guide the strategic direction of this highly promising company. Validity's next generation technology, which decouples the biometric sensor from the die to deliver intrinsic, and important, advantages such as durability, a very small z-height and customizable aesthetics."
