Atinav Announces Bluetooth Version 2.0 + EDR Support; Atinav's aveLink (R) Bluetooth Protocol Stack and Profiles are now Bluetooth v2.0+ EDR Qualified.

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Atinav, a leading provider of Internet-based and wireless solutions for workplace communication, messaging and collaboration, announced today that its aveLink Bluetooth Stack A Bluetooth stack refers to an implementation of the Bluetooth protocol stack.

Bluetooth stacks can be roughly divided into two:
  1. General-purpose implementations that are written with emphasis on feature-richness and flexibility, usually for desktop computers.
and Profiles are fully v2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) An acronym occasionally used to reflect an advancement in transmission or transfer speed. For example, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR provides a dramatic increase in speed over the previous version. See Bluetooth.  compliant and available immediately.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is the body that oversees the development of Bluetooth standards and the licensing of the Bluetooth technologies and trademarks to manufacturers.  (SIG) has adopted a second generation Bluetooth specification that would increase data rates up to three times and reduce power consumption by up to half. Bluetooth Version 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) is also backwards compatible See backward compatible.

with previous specifications. The latest release of the aveLink(R) BT Suite with 2.0 EDR support will enhance the usability of Atinav's Bluetooth solutions, as it offers increased support for Multi-device scenarios, faster file and data transfers, a more powerful Printing experience, improved audio and video transmission experience and much more.

"With Bluetooth 2.0, Atinav will be able to enhance its current solution offerings within our three core areas: Mobile Phones, Audio Devices and Printing/Imaging. Practically, this offers our customers the attractive option of developing current products with additional features as well as introducing brand new products to the market." said Rajesh Rabindranath, VP of Emerging Technologies at Atinav.

The new implementation provides improved facilities to use several functions or devices simultaneously and transfer large data files, due to more available bandwidth. The lower power consumption will enable a new generation of Bluetooth devices to last up to twice the current operating time. The improved functionalities provide Atinav with options to include Bluetooth technology in more user scenarios such as streaming CD-quality audio, digital image transfer and laser printing where bandwidth and power are critical factors.
