MIDDLESBROUGH AC athlete Ben Daley was the star of the local athletes in the North of England Inter Counties match at Hull.

He hit top form in winning the Under-17 hammer and improving on his personal best throw by a massive four metres with 48.62m.

Joe Cox also set a personal best in the 400m hurdles with 60.08sec when finishing third, and Hailie Harris was also third over 200m in 23.98sec.
