Athletics: Carberry set for Gunner outing.

NINA CARBERRY is set for her first ride in the John Smith's Grand National aboard on Forest Gunner a week on Saturday.

Richard Ford-trained 12-year-old was in all the headlines last year when ridden by the Tarporley handler's wife Carrie and was fancied for victory.

A dual winner over the National fences Forest Gunner was fifth behind Hedge-hunter and will again be partnered by an female National debutant De`bu`tant´

Carberry is delighted to get the ride on the Gunner B gelding, despite having parted company with the horse in the Becher Chase last November. She said: "I'm looking forward to it - I can't wait. Hopefully I will get round this time."
