Athletics: Hennessey team gold; LOCAL ROUND-UP.

WREXHAM gymnast Matthew Hennessey made a successful international debut for Great Britain juniors against South Africa in Nottingham at the weekend, helping the home-based team to the gold medal and finishing second in the individual rankings.

Another Wrexham youngster, Addison Williams, helped Wales under-13s to the team gold and finished fifth in the individual standings.

Two stalwarts of Wrexham Gymnastics club, coach Paul Edwards and Janet Davies, have qualified as Federation of International Gymnastics brevet judges, meaning they are eligible to adjudicate at international gymnastic events.
