Atflir pod is capable.

US Navy and Marine Corps Fleet Test personnel recently certified Raytheon's ASQ-228 Atflir (Advanced Target Forward Looking InfraRed) pod <<operationally effective and operationally suitable>> for F/A-18 squadrons after its successful completion of Operational Evaluation (Opeval) and Initial Operational Capability tests. During Opeval tests the Atflir met or exceeded all Navy key performance parameters, being tested in a variety of tactical scenarios that simulate the normal operational environment. This prompted the Navair F/A-18 Program Manager Captain BD Gaddis to remark, <<In all my years in the Navy, this is one of the best test reports I've ever seen>>. Raytheon had delivered ten Block 1 Atflir pods to the fleet and instigated training of aircrew, support, maintenance and other operational personnel.
