Aware of the importance of these markets, Atex installed a state-of-the-art multibeam spunbond line in the U.S. in 2000. This expansion was only the first stage of the company's strategic plan to become one of the most diversified, private spunbond and nonwovens producers.

In September 2002, Atex's third polypropylene polypropylene (pŏl'ēprō`pəlēn), plastic noted for its light weight, being less dense than water; it is a polymer of propylene. It resists moisture, oils, and solvents.  spunbond line, a SX6 layer high tech equipment, will go into production in Settala (MI), and add another 12,000 tons/year to ATEX's capacity.
