Atari Obtains SEC Reporting Extension.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2003

Atari, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAR) has filed for and obtained from the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) an extension in the filing of its Annual Report in Form 10-K Form 10-K

A report required by the SEC from exchange-listed companies that provides for annual disclosure of certain financial information.

 for its fiscal period ended March 31, 2003.

The Company stated that "it is in the process of completing a financing transaction which will affect the Company's auditor's report Auditor's Report

Recorded in the annual report, the auditor's report tests to see that a corporation's financial statements comply with GAAP. This is sometimes referred to as the clean opinion.

Most auditor's reports consist of three paragraphs.
 with respect to its financial statements."

Under SEC rules, the Company now has until July 15, 2003 to file its Form 10-K and issue its fiscal 2003 financial results.
