Atari Broadens Blockbuster Civilization Franchise with Second Expansion Pack; Firaxis Games Expands Civ Experience with Civilization III: Conquests.

Atari, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAR) and Firaxis Games today announced that Sid Meier's Civilization(R) III: Conquests has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. The second expansion pack to the highly successful Sid Meier's Civilization III, Civ(R) Conquests delivers nine professionally designed conquests that let Civ fans re-write history and build even more incredible empires. Also available at retail is Civilization(R) III: Gold Edition which contains the original Civilization III and Play the World(TM), the first expansion pack.

Civ Conquests takes players on a provocative journey through the ages as they pursue victory in nine of the most famous adventures in history. The conquests include Mesopotamia, Rise of Rome The rise of Rome to dominate the overt politics of Europe, North Africa and the Near East completely from the 1st century BC to the 4th century AD, is the subject of a great deal of analysis by historians, military strategists, political scientists and increasingly also some , Fall of Rome, Middle Ages, Mesoamerica, Age of Discovery, Sengoku: Sword of the Shogun shogun (shō`gŭn'), title of the feudal military administrator who from the 12th cent. to the 19th cent. was, as the emperor's military deputy, the actual ruler of Japan. , Napoleonic Europe and World War II: Pacific Battle.
