The Israeli military did not immediately comment.

In February, the Israeli artillery bombarded Al-Qlaileh in response to similar rocket fire. There were no casualties on the Lebanese side and a few Israelis were lightly wounded.

Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia fought a 34-day war in 2006 that killed more than 1,200 people in Lebanon and 160 Israelis.

The conflict started after two Israeli soldiers were captured by Hezbollah fighters in a deadly cross-border raid.
