At a special council meeting on Aug. 26, Henry Stolp, on behalf of the St. George Area Study Group, requested that council approve a resolution directing staff that the county-wide development charges by-law be amended to include a mechanism whereby the by-law itself and the associated background study could be re-opened as soon as the St. George Area Study is completed.

1. To change for the better; improve: amended the earlier proposal so as to make it more comprehensive.

 to include a mechanism whereby the by-law itself and the associated background study could be re-opened as soon as the St. George Area Study is completed, since more accurate estimates will be available for calculation purposes. Stolp noted that a new background study and public meeting may be required if the county-wide development charges are re-opened. He also recognized that this new information could result in either an increase or decrease in the development charges. In response to a question, Stolp advised that about $19 million in projects is covered by the St. George Urban George Robert Urban (12 April 1921 Miskolc, Hungary – 3 October 1997) was a Hungarian writer, best known as a broadcaster for Radio Free Europe (RFE).

After studying at Budapest University, Urban left Hungary in 1948, coming to the United Kingdom where he took up
 Settlement Area.
