Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Astrolink Italia, S.r.l., Astrolink has also entered into a contract with Telespazio, S.p.A. for network O&M services to be provided in Italy. Telespazio is a market leader in space systems and satellite telecommunications.

The services delivered under these contracts will be critical to Astrolink's successful satellite launch and service initiation beginning as scheduled in early 2003.

Initially, Telespazio will define with Astrolink the plans, processes and procedures to manage Astrolink's global satellite network.

By the first satellite launch in Q1 of 2003, Telespazio will begin real-time operations and maintenance support for Astrolink's network operations center See NOC.

Network Operations Center - (NOC) A location from which the operation of a network or internet is monitored. Additionally, this center usually serves as a clearinghouse for connectivity problems and efforts to resolve those problems.
