Astro-Med reports record third quarter results; directors declare regular cash dividend.

WEST WARWICK, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Astro-Med, Inc., West Warwick, R.I. (NASDAQ:ALOT) reports net income of $892,000, equal to 18 cents per common share, on sales of $11,221,000, for the Third Quarter which ended October 29, 1994. For the corresponding period last year, the Company had net income of $703,000, equal to 14 cents per common share, on sales of $7,897,000.

For the Nine-Month Period ended October 29, 1994, the Company had net income of $1,744,000, equal to 34 cents per common share, on sales of $26,865,000. For the corresponding period last year, the Company had net income of $2,110,000, equal to 41 cents per common share, on sales of $24,397,000.

Albert W. Ondis, chief executive officer, stated: "As expected, the strong Third Quarter set records for revenue and profits for a Third Quarter, following a strong Second Quarter. We expect these excellent results to continue as additional new products go into production. In mid-November, we received clearance from the FDA to being marketing our K3 CATH LAB SYSTEM. We expect that first shipments of this important new product will occur in the First Quarter of the new year. Equally important, our exciting new four-color label printer, the SUNDANCE, will go into production as the fiscal year ends.

"The integration of Grass Instrument Co., acquired in August, is continuing satisfactorily, and Grass results are included in the Third Quarter figures."

Ondis also stated that the Astro-Med Board of Directors declared the regular cash dividend of $0.03 per share to be paid January 4, 1995 to shareholders of record December 23, 1994.
