) today announced the release of a new software program designed for creating and printing digital color labels.

Custom QuickLabel(R) is a program suite that allows users to create and print highly customized labels. In addition to digital label design and printing utilities, Custom QuickLabel features six halftone In printing, the simulation of a continuous-tone image (shaded drawing, photograph) with dots. All printing processes, except for Cycolor, print dots. In photographically generated halftones, a camera shoots the image through a halftone screen, creating smaller dots for lighter areas and  printing methods. Another major feature is called "AutoColor," an automatic process that analyzes label colors as they appear on the label designer's computer monitor and calibrates the printer to match printed colors to monitor-appearance.

"We've streamlined the relationship between the person who creates the label and our printer," said Eric Pizzuti, QuickLabel Systems Sales Manager sales manager ngerente m/f de ventas

. "The design goal we achieved with this software is ensuring that printed labels look the way label designers expect them to look."

Developed by QuickLabel's own engineers, Custom QuickLabel directly accesses the native intelligence of QuickLabel printers to allow users to customize the appearance of printed labels by manipulating the printer's on-board color image A (digital) color image is a digital image that includes color information for each pixel.

For visually acceptable results, it is necessary (and almost sufficient) to provide three samples (color channels

Custom QuickLabel users build labels by combining graphics, text panels, barcodes, variable data fields, and other elements into a ready-to-print digital file. The software rapidly processes each file so that label content can change while labels are being printed without slowing print speed. The program's print manager contains preferences designed for high-production environments as well as smaller office environments.

"What makes Custom QuickLabel so valuable," said Pizzuti, "is that it assists users in creating the labels they want and actually enhances the print quality of those labels."

Custom QuickLabel is a drop-in replacement for the company's previous label creation software package, Color QuickLabel 99(R) Pro. The software is available for immediate purchase from QuickLabel's direct sales offices in North America and Europe, and can be purchased throughout the rest of the world from one of QuickLabel's authorized dealers.

The QuickLabel Systems Product Group of Astro-Med Inc designs, manufactures, sells, and services a broad range of digital label printers, label creation software, and label printing supplies. For more information, visit www.QuickLabel.com, or call 877-757-7978.
