:AF), announced that it expects to report first quarter earnings on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET). A copy of the news release will be immediately available on its web site, www.astoriafederal.com.

The Company also announced that George L. Engelke, Jr., Chairman, President & CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Astoria will host an earnings conference call on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (ET), April 17, 2003.
