Aston gearing up for fashion.

Fashion designer Amanda Wakeley is teaming up with Aston Martin to create a new line in clothing. Wakeley will act as an ambassador for Aston Martin globally and will design an "Amanda Wakeley for Aston Martin" clothing collection.

The range will be launched next year and will be distributed via the Amanda Wakeley website and also through the Aston Martin Collection and dealer partners worldwide.

The new partnership deal will be launched at the Amanda Wakeley Spring/Summer 2007 Fashion show at London Fashion Week, which began on Thursday.

Aston Martin chairman and chief executive, Dr Ulrich Bez, says: "We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Amanda as we both share similar values in the quality of our materials and in our craftsmanship."

Wakeley adds: "As a British fashion designer who sells around the world, it is incredibly exciting to be working with Aston Martin, an iconic British brand with such global recognition."

Wakeley launched her signature label in 1990 and over the last decade and a half has developed an international reputation for designing supremely luxurious, elegant women's wear and accessories. She is the winner of several awards including three British Fashion Awards for Glamour.
