: 4503) and Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702) today announced that they have reached an information-system outsourcing agreement on October 28. Under the agreement, the operation of Astellas' information systems which has been handled by Astellas Systems Co.,Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary

A subsidiary whose parent company owns 100% of its common stock.

In other words, the parent company owns the company outright and there are no minority owners.

To provide with headquarters:
 ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  systems will be outsourced to Fujitsu.

Under this agreement, Fujitsu will take in Astellas Systems' know-how in pharmaceutical-related information systems, which Fujitsu intends to leverage in expanding its business with pharmaceutical companies.

While, Astellas will leverage Fujitsu's considerable experience and the existing outsourcing structure, which has been formed at Astellas, to realize a higher-quality and more efficient systems operation.

Following this agreement, Astellas Systems is to be dissolved at the end of March 2006.
