Asst Sec Gen OIC pays farewell call on PM.
Islamabad, August 18, 2009 (Frontier Star): Mr. Abdul Moiz Bokhari,
Assistant Secretary General, Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC)
paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at the
PM's House Tuesday morning before proceeding to Jeddah to assume
the charge of his post in OIC Secretariat. Prime Minister congratulated
Mr. Bokhari on his election to the post of assistant Secretary General.
He termed his election as a manifestation of Pakistan's importance
among the Muslim world and its ever growing fraternal ties with the OIC
member states. Prime Minister directed the Assistant Secretary General
to strive for Pakistan's active role in OIC and seek assistance of
the member states in reconstruction efforts for the IDPs. He asked Mr.
Bokhari to ensure the continued interest of the OIC Secretariat in
resolution of Kashmir dispute as well as of Palestine issue. He assured
him of his government's complete support and cooperation in
discharging of his duties in the OIC Secretariat. The Prime Minister
said that his government would expedite the signing of new OIC Charter
and fast track the ratification process.
