Associations make publishing history. (In the News).


For the first time in publishing history, advertisers can reach members of five different associations via their magazines with a single ad insertion order. The James G. Elliott Company, Los Angeles, launched the "Pro 5 Professional Media Network," facilitating advertising opportunities with magazines from five independent publishers. The Pro 5 Network associations and their publications are as follows:

* American Bar Association American Bar Association (ABA), voluntary organization of lawyers admitted to the bar of any state. Founded (1878) largely through the efforts of the Connecticut Bar Association, it is devoted to improving the administration of justice, seeking uniformity of law , Chicago, ABA Journal, The Lawyers Magazine;

* American Medical Association American Medical Association (AMA), professional physicians' organization (founded 1847). Its goals are to protect the interests of American physicians, advance public health, and support the growth of medical science. , Chicago, American Medical News;

* American Dental Association American Dental Association (ADA),
n.pr a nonprofit professional association whose membership is dental professionals in the United States. Its purpose is to assist its members in providing the highest professional and ethical care to the citizens of the

* Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Piscataway, New Jersey, IEEE Spectrum; and

* National Association of Realtors The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is made up of residential and commercial realtors who are brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, and counselors, and others working in the real estate industry. , Chicago, Realtor Magazine.
