Association launches title on Ceramics Technology.The American Ceramics ceramics (sərăm`ĭks), materials made of nonmetallic minerals that have been permanently hardened by firing at a high temperature, or objects made of such materials. An annual subscription costs $95 for individuals, $190 for institutions and $70 for ACS members. The new quarterly journal will provide the most recent information on ceramic product development and commercialization for engineers, manufacturers, and research and development scientists. Each issue will focus on one major topic with a range of information detailing applications. Featured topics for upcoming issues include fuel cells, nanotechnology, ceramic armor, thermal and environmental barrier coatings, functional materials, composites, biomaterials and green manufacturing.
