, joins Associated Ophthalmic Consultants after a career that has taken him to many of the finest medical programs around the world.

"He's had tremendous training," says Sarasota retinal specialist Dr. Robert K. Snyder of Associated Ophthalmic Consultants. "He's a board-certified pediatrician who's done dual fellowships in retina and pediatric ophthalmology."

Established for 13 years, Associated Ophthalmic Consultants cares for patients with retinal problems, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachments as well as various pediatric ophthalmic conditions. In addition to the Sarasota office, the practice has offices in Bradenton and Venice. Dr. Runge was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and served one year in Vietnam before heading to the University of California The University of California has a combined student body of more than 191,000 students, over 1,340,000 living alumni, and a combined systemwide and campus endowment of just over $7.3 billion (8th largest in the United States). , Irvine, for his B.S. and M.S. in biology. His fellowships were done at the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children and the Institute of Ophthalmology in London, England, at the University of California in Los Angeles and at the University of Tennessee The University of Tennessee (UT), sometimes called the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UT Knoxville or UTK), is the flagship institution of the statewide land-grant University of Tennessee public university system in the American state of Tennessee.  in Memphis. For the past five years, he has also traveled to an eye hospital in Siberia on various medical missions.

Sarasota is a good fit for him now that he and his wife have two young children, he says; and he and Dr. Snyder share the same interest in providing their patients with the best eye care.
