) declared a quarterly dividend of 27 cents ($0.27) per share of common stock.

The dividend is equal to the previous quarterly dividend and represents an 8.0 percent increase compared to the 1994-first quarter dividend of 25 cents ($0.25) per share. The indicated annual cash dividend rate of $1.08 per share would result in a five-year annual compounded growth rate in dividends of 11.4 percent through the end of 1995.

Payable on Feb. 15, 1995 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 6, 1995, the dividend is the 97th consecutive quarter Associated has paid a dividend since its origin in 1970. Associated has 12.6 million shares of common stock outstanding to over 5,000 registered shareholders.

The quarterly dividend follows the company's announcement of its 1994 earnings reported at $3.21 per share, 11.1 percent higher than the previous year.
