Asset Management signed a ten year lease extension covering 45,000 s/f at 477 Madison Avenue.

Halcyon Asset Management currently leases the entire 8th floor and a small portion of the 7th floor. To accommodate Halcyon's immediate growth needs the building assembled additional space on the 7th floor.

Then, in three years Halcyon will expand into the entire 9th floor resulting in the firm more than doubling its presence in 477 Madison Avenue.

Shira Nadich Levin, Esq. of Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman, LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  and David L. Hoffman, Jr., executive managing director of Colliers ABR, represented the building owner in the transaction. Steven Kaufman and James Coleman of Hanley Advisors and Eric M. "The fact that Halcyon could afford to go anywhere but chose to renew and expand at 477 Madison is another example of the building's excellent tenant retention record," said David Hoffman. "Given its location and operating efficiency, the property consistently attracts and retains high end financial services firms like Halcyon."

Halcyon Asset Management is a multi-strategy hedge fund hedge fund, in finance, a highly speculative, largely unregulated investment device. Originating in the 1950s, the funds "hedge" by offsetting "short" positions (borrowing a security and then selling it at a higher price before repaying the lender) against "long"  manager.
