The Golwg 360 website was officially unveiled by heritage minister Alun Ffred Jones Alun Ffred Jones (born 1949) is a Welsh politician and member of Plaid Cymru. Jones was the National Assembly for Wales Member for Caernarfon 2003-07 and for the newly created Arfon constituency since the National Assembly for Wales election, 2007.  on Friday.

But it has since been beset by technical problems for potential readers who have been protesting on other Welsh sites, blogs and via Twitter A Web site and service that lets users send short text messages from their cellphones to a group of friends. Launched in 2006, Twitter (www.twitter.com) was designed for people to broadcast their current activities and thoughts. .

Last night, the company behind the project said it hoped that the problems with the site had now been cleared.

The Welsh Books Council announced in May last year that Golwg Ltd. had won the Assembly Government grant of pounds 200,000-a-year for three years to develop the Welsh language Gwerfyl press. A message on the site yesterday said: "Unfortunately some people are having technical difficulties using the new Golwg360 service at present.

"We apologise for this and are working to resolve the problem."

It added: "Thank you for being patient. We are doing our best!" Users who expressed their views over the internet on Twitter included one who said: "Golwg360 down again. Three days and they still can''t fix it.

"Maybe the WAG should ask for its money back."

Alun Eurig said: I expected better to be honest."

Gwerfyl Pierce Jones, director of the Welsh Books Council said they were in contact with Golwg Newydd over the problems 'to ensure that they are dealt with as a matter of urgency'.

"The company has stressed that this is very much a trial period and comments from the public are not only welcome but will help develop the site over the coming weeks and months."

Lampeter-based Golwg publisher Dylan Iorwerth said yesterday: "There is a problem stopping some people getting on the site and preventing others moving around the site.

"We think the most important issues with the site have now been sorted and we aim to clear the remaining minor issues over the next few days.

"Obviously it's frustrating because the response in the main to the content is good."
