Aspect Telecommunications CEO Jim Carreker Honored by PACT.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1998--WHAT: Jim Carreker, founder and CEO of Aspect Telecommunications, was awarded the Leadership In Action award by People Acting in Community Together (PACT) at the third annual PACT luncheon held on Thursday, Nov. 5 to honor local people influencing the community.

WHO: Carreker is the founder and CEO of Aspect Telecommunications and has lived in the San Jose area for 15 years. During that time, he has played an active role in the community. Carreker is a Senior Fellow and board member of Silicon Valley's American Leadership Forum while also serving on the board of the Entrepreneur's Foundation, a newly-formed group dedicated to establishing community reinvestment programs as an integral part of the culture of Bay area technology companies. He also serves on the board of Herman Miller, Inc., an office systems supplier. Carreker chaired the ALF Project INVOLVE Corporate Community Involvement program for more than two years.

PACT is a grass roots community organization representing 35,000 families through 17 member congregations in San Jose. PACT's achievements include: establishing Community Homework Centers at 130 schools in San Jose; initiating San Jose BEST which has channeled $12.5 million into youth gang prevention programs; organizing Project Crackdown to reduce crime; and securing million of dollars in donation for youth recreation programs.
