Aspec Technology Announces New Vice President of Marketing, Christopher Williams.

Aspec Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASPC), provider of advanced software solutions which dramatically increase design productivity, today announced the appointment of Christopher S. Williams to the position of Vice President of Marketing, effective February 15, 2000.

Immediately prior to joining Aspec, Williams served as Director of New Business Development at Aurigin Systems Inc. where he used his 19 years of Knowledge Management experience to create predictable and repeatable processes for product marketing and defined new product directions, especially in the e-commerce arena.

Williams is well known in the Knowledge Management arena, particularly in regards to workflow and the future of the market. He has published several articles on workflow, Product Data Management (PDM), document management, and the Internet. After 8 years in the aerospace industry as a mechanical engineer, he was recruited by Sherpa Corp., an early pioneer in the PDM market. After building the Technical Customer Support department, he left Sherpa to start his own consulting company. His domain expertise, combined with his knowledge of several Enterprise Knowledge Management solutions kept him in high demand as a consultant. After helping companies like Cisco Systems, Inc., Sun Microsystems Inc., Applied Materials, and Adaptec Inc., with PDM solutions, and developing a unique architecture for managing data using Internet technology, Williams' consulting company was acquired by Silicon Graphics, Inc. He left Silicon Graphics in 1998 to head up Customer Support at Aurigin Systems, Inc., a pioneer in the emerging Intellectual Asset Management market. After setting up customer support, he moved into marketing.

During most of his involvement in the Knowledge Management market, Williams has been a regular speaker at several major conferences such as the Kalthoff Conference, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Computer Technology Solutions Conference, formerly known as Autofact. Until recently, he was a regular contributor to Document Management Magazine.
