Askey Receives CableLabs Certification For Its Next Generation High-Speed SOHO Cable Router.

Askey Computer Corp. today confirmed that its next generation of high-speed small office and home office (SOHO) cable router-RT080 has been awarded full Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) certification by Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs(R)) in Certification Wave 15 (CW15).

CableLabs certification ensures that Askey cable router complies with broadband industry standards for interoperability, compatibility and performance. RT080 is a SOHO cable router that has build-in network address translating (NAT) functionality. This special functionality allows broadband cable Internet access resources to be shared by multiple users (up to 254 users) on the same network. Based upon Askey previously CableLabs certified and field-tested cable modem CME030, this new SOHO router opens many potential business markets to cable operators. Setup is quick and simple by using its feature-rich but easy to navigate configuration screens.

Askey received CableLabs DOCSIS 1.0 certification for its high-speed RT080 router after successfully completing an extensive series of interoperability tests with CableLabs-qualified head-end equipment supplied by several vendors. In addition to its conformance to the DOCSIS standard, RT080 also integrates advanced routing features that enable resource sharing and open up additional markets for cable operators.
