The Nordural aluminum smelter has production capacity of 90,000 metric tons per year, but a current expansion project will more than double the plant's capacity to 212,000 by late 2006.

"We chose SecurStore because its backup solution gives us all around backup and recovery services for our needs, with 24x7x365 support," said Emil Hilmarsson, Nordural IT Manager.

SecurStore also provides Nordural with the option of assigning which data is "critical"; and which is "important" data by using Long Term Storage (LTS LTS 1 Latent tetany syndrome, see there 2. Alexander Eiriksson, President of SecurStore, said, "The agentless architecture of Asigra Televaulting enables us at SecurStore to implement our services with minimal interference to Nordural's existing computer systems. Moreover, because Asigra Televaulting is pivoted around providing backup and recovery for geographically dispersed dis·perse

locations, it perfectly complements Nordural's multi-site locations, remote or otherwise. This provisioning enables us to backup laptops from a distance even when workers are away."

Eran Farajun, executive vice president of Asigra, said, "Nordural's decision to go with SecurStore highlights the strength and flexibility of SecurStore's IP Backup. Asigra's technology gives Nordural the assurance that all defined requirements will be met -- from a fast critical restore, to remote backup for multiple locations, to a simple and effective interface for the IT people at Nordural."

At each customer site, a single Asigra Televaulting DS-Client discovers all servers, desktops and laptops connected to the local network, and automates the backup of all local data assets. Before the backup data set is transmitted to SecurStore's data center, Asigra Televaulting software analyzes the data, finds new and changed file blocks, eliminates duplicate files and further compresses the residue bytes to ensure the backup set is as compact as possible. The software then encrypts the data before sending it over an IP WAN connection to a centralized cen·tral·ize

Moreover, the back-end DS-System server integrates directly with third-party ILM solutions from the major storage vendors.
