Asian stars shine for Diwali.


THOUSANDS of people turned out to take part in a free Diwali Diwali

an annual Hindu festival honouring Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth
 celebration at Millenium Point.

The event featured top Asian stars including Raghav, Navin Kundra and 3 Mix as well as up-and-coming star Karen David, who appeared in hollywood film Couples Retreat.

Mahendra Dabhi, president of the Hindu Council of Birmingham, said: "This free event has now grown to be the largest Diwali celebration in the West Midlands West Midlands, former metropolitan county, central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Birmingham conurbation and comprised seven metropolitan districts: Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Birmingham, Solihull, . Millennium Point Millennium Point is a complex in Birmingham, situated in the developing Eastside of the city centre. It is a Millennium Commission project.
