Asian Development Bank supports rehabilitation of 28 schools worth 94 million soms in 2008 in Kyrgyzstan.The Asian Development Bank supported rehabilitation of 28 schools in Kyrgyzstan valued at 94,446,856 soms.According to ADB Second Education Project Communications Officer Mira Osmonalieva, 28 schools, including 2 schools in each Talas and Naryn oblasts, 3 schools in eacn Issyk-Kul, Chui and Batken oblasts, 7 schools in Osh and 8 schools in Jalal-Abad oblasts were repaired under the component 3 "Improvement of Education Quality and School Attendance in Rural Areas".All rehabilitation works were completed in time and endorsed by the commissions of local state administrations.The scope of rehabilitation works in schools for 2009 has been determined.Under this project 33 schools of Batken, Osh, Jalal-Abad oblasts, Kyrgyz Academy of Education, Osh Teacher In-Service Training Institute, Batken and Jalal-Abad Oblast Methodological Centers of Education were provided with computers, language lab and visual equipment.23 schools in Talas, Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Chui oblasts, Issyyk-Kul Institute of Education, Naryn and Talas Methodological Centers of Education are being supplied with computers, language lab equipment.In 2009 the Asian Development Bank plans to identify children with special needs living in the areas of pilot schools; to provide children with special needs with special equipment; to repair pilot schools and provide them with special equipment; to conduct baseline studies.
