.A.) (TSE:BBD.B.) Bombardier Aerospace is pleased to announce that Sino Private Aviation Limited, a Hong Kong-based corporation, has become the Asia-Pacific launch customer for the new, high-speed Bombardier Global 5000(a) business jet.

The firm order for the Bombardier Global 5000 was signed today by Diana Chou, director, Sino Private Aviation Limited, at a ceremony held during Asian Aerospace Asian Aerospace (AA) is an international trade fair for the aerospace business. It had been based at the Changi Exhibition Centre near the Singapore Changi Airport, it is the biggest airshow event in Asia, and was touted by its organisers as the "world’s second most  2002 in Singapore.

The Bombardier Global 5000 program was officially launched on February 5th after worldwide market interest resulted in letters of intent for 15 aircraft.

Providing the widest and most spacious cabin among the super-large business jets, the Bombardier Global 5000 is a high-speed intercontinental business jet capable of flying non-stop from Continental Europe Continental Europe, also referred to as mainland Europe or simply the Continent, is the continent of Europe, explicitly excluding European islands and, at times, peninsulas.  to central North America at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers and three crew. Designed to execute transcontinental missions at a brisk Mach 0.89 - faster than any competing jet - it will fly executives and government leaders in and out of airfields closer to their point of business than any widebody business jet.

The Bombardier Global 5000, competing in the super-large jet segment, will offer speed, takeoff and landing performance and sophisticated systems that are similar to those delivered by its parent, the Bombardier Global Express The Bombardier BD-700 Global Express is an ultra long range corporate and VIP high speed jet which has also been modified for military missions.

Bombardier began studies in 1991 and the aircraft was officially launched in 1993. First flight occurred on October 13 1996.
(R). For operators purchasing both the Bombardier Global Express and the Global 5000, this high level of commonality should offer significant cost benefits, particularly as it relates to expected common crew and maintenance type ratings and on-site spares support.
