Asia.com Partners With Ericsson to Launch Wireless and Web Location-Based Services for Carriers and Enterprises in Asia.

Asia.com, Inc., a leading provider of wireless and Internet business services in Asia, has partnered with Ericsson to unveil its Location-Based Services See mobile positioning.  (LBS (Location-Based Services) See mobile positioning. ).

Asia.com's LBS platform, known as Popm@p, is one of the first available in Asia and will be used in conjunction with Ericsson's Mobile Positioning The ability to pinpoint the location of a mobile caller or vehicle in transit. These location-based services (LBS) are used for emergency purposes as well as enhanced business applications such as location-sensitive billing, traffic updates, fleet management and asset and people tracking.  System (MPS), a new location positioning standard which allows mobile carriers to take advantage of their existing mobile infrastructure.
