Asia Online Secures US$100 Million in New Funding.

Asia Online Ltd., a pan-Asia Pacific Internet business solutions provider, with its North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  headquarters based here, has raised US$100 million of new capital from institutional and strategic investors, including Dell Computer and PaineWebber.

The new investment will be used to fund further regional expansion, increase the company's intellectual capital, develop new products, integrate the product offerings of others and create intellectual property to lead the application service provider market in Asia Pacific.

Previous rounds led by SOFTBANK Venture Capital and JP Morgan have provided more than US$40MM in financing. Asia Online completed its first acquisition in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  in Feb. 1999. The company has expanded rapidly through a series of strategic business acquisitions in Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia.
