Its primary industry is oil and gas, with large heavy oil reserves being exploited at the Athabasca Oil Sands and Wabasca Area in the east of the region. , bringing to eleven the total number of pipes from which analytical results have been reported. The results tabulated below include initial analyses from pipes K5B, K7A, K7B and K7C along with further analyses from K4C and K6. Sample intervals have been randomly selected as representative from within long intersections of kimberlite, and have been analysed by caustic dissolution in the Ashton group laboratories in North Vancouver North Vancouver, city (1991 pop. 38,436), SW British Columbia, Canada, on Burrard Inlet of the Strait of Georgia, opposite Vancouver, of which it is a suburb. Shipbuilding, woodworking, and the shipping of grain, lumber, and ore are the chief industries. and Perth, Australia Perth may refer to:

Microdiamonds are stones with a maximum dimension of less than 0.5 mm
and greater than 0.1 mm. The maximum dimension of the larger
macrodiamond from pipe K6 is 1.5 mm.

The incidence of microdiamonds and one macrodiamond in pipe K5B is an encouraging exploration result, as is the further indication of microdiamonds and macrodiamonds in pipe K6. It should be noted that microdiamond analyses of samples of such limited size cannot provide sufficient information to determine grade and quality. Commercial potential can only be determined by the collection and analyses of larger mini-bulk and bulk samples. Results now have been received from each of the eleven pipes discovered last winter, and are summarized below:

The early exploration results from pipes K14, K5A/B A/B Airborne A/B Afterburner (jet engines) A/B Air Blast A/B Answerback A/B Auto-brake A/B Air Bus A/B Afterburning , and K6 are encouraging and warrant mini-bulk sampling during the forthcoming summer program. This program will begin later in June, and will include the taking of samples of about 10 tonnes each from these pipes. New geophysical targets will be drilled along with further drilling of the kimberlites found last winter, and airborne and ground geophysical surveys Geophysical survey refers to the systematic collection of geophysical data for spatial studies.
