Ashton announces new kimberlitic discovery in Northern Ontario.VANCOUVER, BC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 1995--Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. (ACA ACA - Application Control Architecture ) today announced the discovery of a new kimberlitic body in Northern Ontario Northern Ontario is the part of the province of Ontario which lies north of Lake Huron (including Georgian Bay), the French River and Lake Nipissing. Northern Ontario has a land area of 802,000 km² (310,000 mi²) and constitutes 87% of the land area of Ontario, although it . The James Bay James Bay, shallow southern arm of Hudson Bay, c.300 mi (480 km) long and 140 mi (230 km) wide, E central Canada, in Nunavut Territory between Ont. and Que. Numerous rivers flow into the bay; many of these have been developed for hydroelectric power in Quebec (see Joint Venture between KWG KWG Kreditwesengesetz (German: banking act) KWG Kids With Guns (band) KWG Kaiser Wilhelm Gymnasium KWG Kernkraftwerk Graben Resources Inc. (KWG) and ACA reports that a vertical diamond drill hole intersected a kimberlitic body at a depth of 68 metres. The hole was terminated, still in the body, at a depth of 383 metres. The partners recognize that the new discovery has geographic and geological affinities with the Kyle Lake body discovered in 1994. At Kyle Lake a second hole drilled by KWG during January 1995 has reported a diamond content comparable to the first hole drilled in 1994. The new series of results returned by Lakefield Research and reported by KWG shows 291 microdiamonds and 79 macrodiamonds from 283 kg of kimberlitic material. Subsequent to the drilling of this second hole, Ashton has drilled an additional two holes into the Kyle Lake body and has recovered approximately 2 tonnes of material which will be tested for commercial sized diamonds. Ashton has also tested the MacFadyen no. 1 kimberlite kimberlite: see diamond. kimberlite or blue ground Dark, heavy, often fragmented igneous rock that may contain diamonds in the rock matrix. with 1 vertical hole. This program generated approximately 1 tonne of material which is also being tested for diamond content. Commenting on these recent developments, the Company's President, David Hurburgh, said "The James Bay Lowlands is now being confirmed as a very prospective area for diamond exploration. The latest discovery, together with Kyle Lake, justifies Ashton's long held commitment to the James Bay area. The potential for additional discoveries is high. We are planning an active program to follow up these results." CONTACT: Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. David M.
